Fathoms Free is a group of volunteer divers and conservationists who refuse to stand by whilst our seas turn into an uninhabitable dumping ground. Divers are in a unique position to tackle this threat of marine waste at depths through debris dives. They aim to raise awareness and work towards changing industrial practices and legislation.
Fathoms Free will be conducting an underwater scuba diving litter pick to show the public what litter is found in the sea. People assume that just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. The debris will then be sorted/weighed/catalogued ready to be submitted to PADI Project Aware shortly after.
